Juyongguan Great Wall is located in the Chang-ping District, 50 kilometers northwest of downtown Beijing.  Juyongguan is reputed as the “Number One Imposing Pass under Heaven.” Besides its strategic significance, Juyongguan was famous for its charming scenery.  The slopes on both sides of this narrow pass are carpeted by a dense growth of foliage, which used to be one of the eight famous scenic spots in Beijing and known as Juyong die cut (Piled Verdure at Juyong).  As a gateway to Beijing, sheer cliffs sandwich the pass, and the place looks so thrilling that one man alone could keep 10,000 enemy soldiers at bay. This schedule and time are flexible, and you can choose to do it in the morning or afternoon.
